There was a slideshow of photographs from each year playing on two large screens in the ballroom throughout the course of the evening. This event was organised by LawSoc with the intention of. The reception was followed by a three-course meal in the main ballroom. We feel that this represents how MedSoc is changing as an organisation in order to cater to our changing membership. Our philosophy throughout the year, visible through all of our events, is that MedSoc exists to provide the best academic, social and sporting events to our members at as little cost as is reasonable.
It was both an enjoyable and affordable night, with entry costing only 2, and was well attended by both classes. Afterwards, we headed out to the front of the student centre, all the first years sharing their stories from Magaluf and Santa Ponsa etc.
The mixer was a great opportunity for new friendships between the two classes, giving first meds a chance to reminisce about their wild premed days, and prove to the pre meds there was life after organic chemistry! Promotion could have been done earlier.
We had a number of changes that we wished to make, namely; Take the Big Breakfast off campus and into the city centre, in order to increase the amount of time spent fundraising.
